What is Credit Score?

A Credit Score is a 3-digit number that represents your creditworthiness based on your financial and repayment history. Commonly known as the CIBIL Score, it usually ranges from 300 to 900. A higher score improves your chances of getting loans and credit cards from banks and financial institutions.

CIBIL is one of India’s four major Credit Information Companies (CICs) that calculates and maintains your credit score based on your credit history and repayment behaviour.
Your Credit Score is calculated based on information shared by banks and lenders, including EMI payments, credit card bill payments, loan activity, and new credit applications.
As per RBI guidelines, all lenders are required to update customer credit information with credit bureaus every 15 days to ensure the latest credit activity is reflected accurately.
